New African Writing: The first reading

The first phase of New African Writing ended with a reading of some of the selected short stories by the writers at The Life House last Friday. Our esteemed panelists, Jude Dibia, Ike Oguine and Toyin Akinosho, were on hand to give the writers constructive criticism and feedback on the stories. Here are some photos from the event:

Another reading will be taking place at The Life House on February 24, so if you couldn’t be at the last one, please keep your diaries open.

If you are a writer, you have another shot at getting your stories critiqued by our panel. Send your short story of no more than 5,000 words to [email protected]. Emails should include your name, phone number and email address. Please note that only short stories of 5,000 words or less will be considered, and multiple entries are not allowed. The deadline for submissions is February 19.

Also for writers out there, Doreen Baingana will be speaking on writing and reading from her work on Friday, February 17. The event is open to all, and it takes place at The Life House, 33 Sinari Daranijo Street, off Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
