Hello, everyone. We hope you had a lovely weekend.
If you missed the New African Writing reading last Friday at The Life House, then you missed out on a fun evening. Eight out of the selected fifteen writers were available to read their work. Also, we had five distinguished writers – Tolu Ogunlesi, Jude Dibia, Eghosa Imasuen, Toyin Akinosho and Toni Kan – with us to help critique the stories and offer constructive feedback to the writers. The audience also contributed by sharing their comments and impressions on the stories. Please see photos of the event below.

We say a big thank you to the judges and attendees for their support, and to everyone who sent in their submissions. We plan on making the New African Writing initiative a continuous one, and our goal is to help bring new African writing to the fore through it.

I adore Toni Kan’s writing. I wish I was there.
When will the finalists be picked? Couldn’t come 4 the second reading because of the time. I live at suru-lere and i don’t drive, coming to the life house at that time, to me is quite risky. I hope that in the nearest future, the time will be changed to accommodate people like me.
Hello, Adaeze. The finalists have not been picked yet. We’ll announce it when that happens.
Whatever happened to this project? Nothing new? No new competition? No finalist? No stories to read on the blog?
Hi Gem.
It’s taking longer than anticipated, but we are still working on the project.
Thanks.
